Boys Mentoring Advocacy Network (BMAN) is a registered (CAC/IT/No 105509) Non-Governmental Organization established to guide boys and adolescent males on their journey to healthy, caring, respectful and responsible manhood. The mission of BMAN is to cultivate boys to stand out by standing up, equip boys to be excellent and nonviolent communicators, teach boys ethical literacy and groom boys to respect the opposite sex.
BMAN is a registered mentoring agency providing mentoring programs for boys and male adolescents school boys in Africa. The program will form partnerships with educational districts, parent forum, private schools, public schools, trade association and the juvenile court system.
Boys are matched with a caring a league of volunteer mentor who is trained to focus on positive reinforcement, trust-building, decision making and the achievement of goals, by engaging boys in one-on-one outing and group adventures in the community. Mentors and mentees agree to meet for between 2 hours weekly for a full year.
Ongoing training will continue with mentors on individual case management throughout the year. In addition, BMAN offers monthly mentor support meetings.
