JOSHUA BECKFORD SYMPATHIZISES WITH NIGERIANS ON THE LOSS OF SCHOOL CHILDREN IN COLLAPSED BUILDING IN LAGOS, NIGERIA

Dear parents of the children of Baden Nursery and Primary School, Lagos.

I am sending this message of sympathy and condolences as Ambassador for BMAN (Boys Mentoring Advocacy Network) to the parents and relatives of the children who lost their lives so young whilst just trying to get their education.

It is with great sadness that I saw on the international news yesterday that a school building in Ita Faji Lagos collapsed.

Emergency personnel rescue a child at the site of a building which collapsed in Lagos on March 13, 2019. – At least 10 children were among scores of people missing on March 13, 2019 after a four-storey building collapsed in Lagos, with rescuers trying to reach them through the roof of the damaged structure. The children were attending a nursery and primary school on the top floor of the residential building when the structure collapsed. Police said they believed scores of people were trapped under the rubble. (Photo by SEGUN OGUNFEYITIMI / AFP)

I also hope that those injured and rescued will have a speedy recovery.

As ambassador for BMAN, I am currently fundraising to rebuild a school for the Tafan Community in Kaduna State Nigeria for children from Low Income Families who are not in school.

I hope that lessons will be learned for this tragic disaster and all school building will be constructed to higher standards for everyone in Nigeria.

I am a 14 year old boy who lives in London.

On Behalf of BMAN
